Prior to Move In
Before move-in, be sure to check your assigned move-in time—sent via email over the summer. These times are designed to keep the process running smoothly. You'll also need to complete your Move-In Checklist, available in your Resident Portal under Messages & Alerts and sent via email. This must be completed before you can receive your keys.
Move-In Essentials
As you prepare for the big day, we recommend packing a separate tote bag with your must-have essentials—things you’ll want easy access to during the move. We know moving can feel overwhelming, so we’ve created a handy checklist of what to bring on day one to help make your move as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Tips for Roommates
A great living experience starts with communication and collaboration. Building strong roommate relationships begins with open conversations and shared expectations. To help you start off on the right foot, we’ve put together some helpful tips and conversation starters to guide you before move-in. Check out the list below to make your shared space work better for everyone.

When You Arrive
Swing by the Sterling 5th Street leasing office to meet our team and check in! If you have friends or family helping with your move, they can pull around to the parking garage and meet you there once you’ve finished checking in. During your move-in, you’ll receive your keys, parking details, and an All-About-Sterling welcome packet to get you settled in!

Parking
The parking garage will be open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM on move-in day. Please note that only residents with a reserved parking space for the Fall lease term may leave their vehicles in the garage after 7:00 PM — all others must exit by that time to avoid towing. Each resident may bring up to two vehicles into the garage during move-in. Trailers are not permitted inside Sterling’s parking garage. Any additional vehicles or trailers will need to park in designated areas elsewhere within the District.

Inventory & Condition
Once you’ve received your keys, the Aspire team will upload an electronic Inventory & Condition Form to your resident portal. This required checklist must be completed within 48 hours. You'll walk through your apartment, room by room, documenting and photographing any pre-existing damage or imperfections you notice. This step is important—it ensures our team is aware of any existing issues and helps protect you from being held responsible for damages that weren’t caused by you at move-out.

Sit Back & Relax!
Congratulations — and welcome home to Sterling 5th Street! You’re officially a resident! Be sure to check out the Resident page for everything you need to know now that you’ve moved in.
